Louis XV Chaise à la reine progress II

Just a quick update - here's the completed seat embroidery.  As you can see, I have completed the roses and filled out the wreath with leaves.

I think the delicate design brings out the carving on the chair.  Next to do is embroider the chair back, then tackle the upholstery, which is always the difficult part!

Once again, I am amazed at your work. The pattern is wonderful and it is incredible to me that your stitches are so perfect and regular. Your work really is a feast for the eyes and I can't wait to see the finished chair!

  4. Thank you!

It's funny, but I'm not really a fan of pink, or too much 'shabby chic', but this chair is based on an origianl, and somehow, it just 'works'. They certainly knew their design principles in the 18th century!

The embroidery is the easy part - I am already having kittens over the upholstery, and cutting the work up :(

    Fingers crossed ...

  7. Buon Natale, Jonquil! Non ho avuto tempo di rispondenti su Etsy perché ero impegnata con i preparativi del Battesimo del mio piccolo Edoardo, ma ti risponderò subito dopo queste feste natalizie. Un abbraccio grande.
