I hope you had a lovely Christmas, here is a little post to show you recent developments at Daviot House... enjoy!
A new porch at the front gives the house more substance, though the glazier needs to be called to fit new windows in the turret!
The warm lights invite us inside from the cold...
But before we go in, let's have a look at the garden, where signs of Spring are just beginning to show...
The back wall is awaiting its fountain...
The dining closet is in desperate need of some doors!
It looks much warmer inside - shall we go in?
..
That's better... would you like to have a seat in this chair?
Or perhaps on the knowle sofa? I wish the owners would call in the plasterers for the ceiling...2015 will be a year of DIY...
... but the lady of the house will insist on spending money on her blue and white china! Here's a new bowl by Muriel Hopwood.
And here's a vase by Muriel Hopwood, this time filled with tulips
Perhaps you would like to sit in this armchair, and drink a hot cup of tea
Or perhaps you'd prefer to relax on the sofa? Where ever you decide, I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and a Happy New Year,
Jonquil

Merci beaucoup, Geneviève, et je te souhaite bonne année, bonne santé!
DeleteHow charming. The warmth of the lights and the signs of Spring. So realistic! Happy New Year! CM
ReplyDeleteAt the beginning of January, I am always searching for signs of Spring in the snow! Only three more months to go! Happy New Year!
DeleteHello Jonquil! I have to say how Marvelous I think your new improvements to your house are! The new front entry will offer not only protection from the elements, but also a bit of architectural interest to the building itself. I also like the turret addition, which looks right at home.
ReplyDeleteI Love the beginnings of your Spring Garden, and I look forward to seeing more of the mini bulbs coming into flower as your garden "grows". The dining closet is very cosy and the drapes, the blue and white china and the tile inset into the fireplace, along with the future doors that will lead to the outside, make this one of my favorite rooms! Your house has so much atmosphere and personality, Jonquil. I am so glad to see your newest developments to your Daviot House.
Have a Wonderful New Years and keep up the Great Work! :D

Thank you so much for your kind words, I can't tell you how much your own blog has inspired me over the past year!
DeleteI can't do much in my RL garden, and am finding that I can get satisfaction from my miniature one, though it may grow a little more slowly! But there are no pests and diseases, and I can have irises flowering at the same time as Japanese anemones!
Wishing you a very happy and productive New Year
Jonquil

ReplyDeleteSorry, for some reason my comment froze half way through! I wanted to say that the house looks so welcoming with the glowing lights and fire. Will be interesting to see what you do with the garden.
ReplyDeleteRegards Janine
Hello Jonquil,
ReplyDeleteIt looks incredible realistic and so beautiful. The porch really creates a grand entrance and your paneling came out perfect. It is a wonderful miniature house. Well done!
Big hug,
