Mini Museum
A rainy day found me in the miniatures museum here in Lyon. At the top of the building, which also houses an exhibition on model making for the cinema, there are quite a few room boxes. I thought I'd share my favourite with you - a model of a 19th century silk weaver's studio, very typical of Lyon.
Enjoy!

Hello Jonquil!
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting these great pictures. They are stunning and an incredible example of great miniature work.
Big hug,
Giac
Desde luego es una maravilla.
ReplyDeleteI Love the atmosphere of this workroom Jonquil and although it is very quiet now, one can imagine the noise of the machinery and the loom when the workplace reopens the following day. I really like the room arrangement and most especially the nook with the stove and the office directly above it. So thankful that you posted this Jonquil! :D

That's a MINIATURE?! At first glance I thought it was real! Lucky you, getting to see this up close...no mini museum where I live!
ReplyDeleteI must have been living under a rock lately or something, because I just noticed I have missed four of your posts. How was that possible?
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I love the wooden machinery, how beautifully made! I can understand your attraction to this room :-)
thank you for sharing your wonderful photos, I wish I could have seen them in person but this is just as nice
