Happy Boxing Day

The presents have been opened,  the dinner cleared away... now it is my favourite part of the season, the cozy moments of Boxing Day.

Time to relax quietly before the New Year...perhaps I'll start a new mini project.

I wish you many good things for the season, and look forward to another miniature year with you,

Jonquil

  3. Gosh, I have missed so many posts this year! First of all, very belated congratulations on your 40th birthday! Such absolutely wonderful gifts you received from your friends and family! I can imagine you were thrilled to receive and unwrap them.
Then about some of your other posts: I love the front door you have made for Daviot House, with the inscriptions on the lintel!
The sofa you've embroidered is beautiful and I especially love the last photo of that post, all the embroidery, so gorgeous!
Ah, the book making...it is always a never ending story. You think you've made enough and then it barely fills one bookcase...The italianate plate in there is a dream.
The stone flooring in your entrance hall is another triumph, as is all of your stonework. I love the curved ceiling here, it provides so much visual interest to this space. And I love the pop of colour with those flowers on the table, so pretty!
Finally, thank you for sharing your your wonderful build with us here. I so enjoy all of your posts Jonquil(even though I am extrememely late with my comments) and very much look forward to what you will share with us next year. Best wishes from a wet and windy northern Netherlands.

    1. Hi Josje!
THank you very much. I'm glad you had a good time going through the last year, it is perhaps more satisfying like that than reading each month.
Don't worry about the comments, I am awful at writing and replying to comments!

  5. I always look forward to a post from you and am so happy that you've given us a Boxing Day post although once again I'm late to the party! You have set a lovely table for your family and friends and I love how you've included the use of your polished silver, so often we tuck away our treasures and only bring them out for special occasions but the Lady of this house uses hers regularly and I think that's Marvellous! ❤️
Welcome 2021 and GOD bless us everyone!

    1. This particular Lady has a little addiction to silverware - in both real life and miniature. And she loves the ritual of cleaning it all ;D
I am also always late to parties, but I believe that it is quite fashionable, so will not be changing my habits!
Happy New Year ELizabeth, may it bring you only wonderful things!

  7. Not at all Irene, here in France we can say 'Bonne Année' right up to the end of January, which I think is very nice and laid back! Glad you like the post, I shall endeavour to post more often this year...
