And so to bed....

A very hot July allowed me to finish off the bedroom finally... only the bed curtains left to do!

A nice, warm nightgown for those draughty Winter nights...

The Daviot House sampler above the stumpwork box...

And some beautiful lilies, just like the ones in my garden...

Sleep tight!

    1. I would love to snuggle down in this bed come autumn, with a little fire in the grate to keep off the chill!

  4. Hi Jonquil! It sure is hard to imagine those cold drafty nights in the middle of hot summer! Your bedroom is looking so serene! I LOVE your embroidered box and the sampler... not to mention the flowers and the furniture! This is a room I think we all Dream of.... climbing into that bed and drifting to sleep and waking again with the sunrise! Beautiful work!

  6. One of my favorite things about your bed, is that the mattress appears soft and comfortable and that the linen looks like it's slept in. Some beds are so hard and stiff looking and like they are only for looking at, but your looks inviting! And I imagine that the linen is dried outside in the sun and draped over the lavender beds so that the fragrance permeates the sheets. :))
And you embroidery Jonquil..... It is past Perfection! I adore the little box and the sampler above it, not to mention the nightgown and cap on the door. and the exquisitely embroidered pillows on the bed... All of them are tiny works of ART!
The whitewashed walls have the serenity of a convent, but your displays of all of this Incredible needlework, is fit for a Queen!
