Louis XV Chaise à la reine - Finished!

After much swearing and fiddling, the chair is finally done!  It was a very nerve-wracking process, but gave quite a sense of accomplishment.  It goes very well with my Palais Royale roses, which are looking fabulous in the garden right now.

Centering the embroidery was probably one of the hardest moments, and quite frustrating...

I hope you like it!

  1. Hello Jonquil,
I LOVE it. the pattern and detail is so crisp and well done. It still amazes me how work that small and intricate can look so realistic. The chair really is a masterpiece...a real work of art. Your work just keeps on getting better!
    Big hug,

  2. Jonquil, it's absolutely lovely and worth every second you spent struggling with it. That tiny blue bow at the top centre is the perfect period touch - I can almost hear the swish of silk skirts as some grand aristocratic lady takes her seat!
